-Make sure your information is keyword rich, and unique. Meta tags dont matter anymore so dont worry about that. Title tags no longer matter either but make sure they are keyword rich.
- Dont deal with flash google doesnt really like it.
-XML site maps arent necessary but it helps with quicker indexing. It does not, however, increase your SERP.
-Dont have duplicate content from one of your pages to the other. However, you can syndicate your content to other websites.

Once that has been achieved you can only hope that maybe 1 in 10 or 1 in 100 click throughs will actually make a purchase.

While most credible or ethical affiliate programs or vendors will ensure that once your site visitor has clicked through to their landing page that a cookie will be set on the visitor’s computer, if this doesn’t happen you could be losing lots of valuable affiliate commissions.

The importance of this is that because most of your referrals won’t purchase on their first visit to your site, it is important that a cookie is set on their computer so that if they return directly to the vendor’s landing page and make a purchase you will still be credited for the sale via the cookie.

The key strategy in all of this is therefore to ensure that your affiliate program’s software is setting a cookie on your visitor’s computers for as long as possible so that you chances of being credited for the sale of a returning visitor are maximized.

Whilst there is more to being successful with affiliate marketing, you ignore the above strategy at your peril.
